Hilo Adult Day Center

Hilo Adult Day Center Hilo Adult Day Center offers a home-like,
safe and supportive daytime environment for seniors and younger adults
who are physically and/or mentally challenged and for persons with Alzheimer's
disease. Located just below Rainbow Falls on Rainbow Drive in a quiet Banyan tree
lane setting, this life-enhancing program serves as a cost-effective, community
based alternative to nursing home care or premature institutionalization.
Hilo Adult Day Center's philosophy is based on a deep commitment to health
and human care.
Hilo Adult Day Center offers the following special programs
for seniors and adults with disabilities:

     Senior and Adult Program: (full or part time),
Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 5:00 pm
and Saturdays, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

     Special Care Program: (for adults and seniors with Alzheimer's and related dementia),
Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm and Saturdays, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

These programs offer a variety of supervised, structured group activities
designed to promote independence, personal growth and enjoyment. The participants, participate
in a wide range of fun and stimulating social, recreational, and educational activities
according to their individual abilities, needs and interests.

Qualified, caring creative staff with a one to six
staff-to-client ratio.
Care plan coordination and health monitoring by staff nurse.
Financial assistance, scholarships and grants.
Individual activity assessment and planning by staff nurse.
Bi-lingual personnel available at all times.
Nutritious light breakfast, lunch and snack provided daily.
Quiet, comfortable rest areas for relaxing and napping.
Assistance with bowel and bladder problems.
Assistance with transportation arrangements.
Support and education for family caregivers.
Active volunteer program.
Referral of clients with special care needs to a
variety of health andinformation resources.
Free visitation day for those interested in the program.
